There are two main types of recessed chamber plate filter press, recessed chamber filter press and membrane filter press. The cost of membrane filter press is higher than the recessed chamber filter press at the same chamber volume and filtering area. It is the mainly difference of filter plate structure on the one side, moreover, the higher design requirements of filter plates, machine frame and hydraulic system for large pressure working condition.

The recessed chamber filter press produced from pure polypropylene one-time injection molding. But membrane filter plate constructed by two piece of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) added polypropylene diaphragms with one center frame welded. Some of membrane filter plate utilized rubber material as diaphragm.

It is not only higher demand of processing temperature and pressure, but also the longer aging time for cooling and release internal stress to make sure that no breakage or pressure loss while filled with compressed air or pressure water during second squeezing working condition.

Therefore, membrane filter press cost is higher than the recessed chamber filter press at same comfiguration due to the specified designing of material, structure, and corresponding strength.
